Methadone is a long acting opioid used in the treatment of opioid dependency. People addicted to heroin or other narcotics are put on a Methadone maintenance program to keep them from using other opioids while preventing withdrawal. The Methadone program is not supposed to last forever, and patients are slowly weaned off until they are off it completely. However, this process can last years, and some find it very difficult to come off Methadone.
For this reason, some are critical of the Methadone program saying its just substituting one addiction for another. All of this while the brain changes caused by the narcotic abuse has not been dealt with. Methadone withdrawal is very intense and uncomfortable.
Short term and long term Methadone use may have ill-effects:
- Mental changes
- Decreased Concentration
- Sexual Dysfunction
- Respiratory Disorders
- Decreased vitamin levels
- Dry mouth
- Trouble breathing
- Rapid or slow pulse
Detoxing with our NAD+ Brain Refuel™ Program and FastVitaminIV® push will decrease withdrawal symptoms and allow you to come off Methadone more comfortably. It is a 10-14-day program depending on how long you have been on Methadone. Patients sit in a recliner and an IV is started with NAD+ part taking 1.5 hours each day approximately.
At the end of each NAD+ drip we push in the FastVitaminIV® which makes people feel better and replenishes any vitamin and amino acid depletion. Both help the brain and body heal. IV NAD+ therapy has been shown to reduce cravings, and make you feel energized and revitalized.
